Not sure. I initially thought the same. When I put the disc in it said it was already downloaded. Gave me the option to delete then download and copy from the disk. I did that and didn't have an issue after. Played both multi-player and warzone with no issues.
Restart the game. Once restart is done, in the main menu, instead of pressing the Modern Warfare 3 Campaign next to the other modes, go to the tab with settings, notifications (PS5 owners, press start while in the main menu). On the bottom of the tab, there is a bug button with the “Modern Warfare 3 Early Access” tag, press “play” on it.
